Bioethics and the Feminist Attitude

Feminist AttitudeThe International Network on Feminist Approaches to Bioethics often referred to as FAB is a group of feminists in the field of bioethics, so a female’s perspective, as well as ethical problems in biosciences and healthcare, can be determined. The International Journal of Feminists Approaches to Bioethics published a journal along with the International association of Bioethics, which when put together explained the history of the organization.
The organization International Network on Feminist Approaches to Bioethics was established in 1992 with the goal to create a better bioethical theory from the viewpoint of women. This journal not only explains the history, but goes into the privileges of groups with power such as females, or others that have their own viewpoint on the ethics and morals of bioethics.
Throughout history, medical, ethics, and politics have always been viewed from a male perspective. However, due to the female body being different as well as the viewpoints of women, this organization wants women to be heard.
A man’s genetic makeup is different than a woman’s, therefore, if we only look at a male at the bioethics work, women as a whole become irrelevant, which could cause harm to females.
Today, women in the field of bioethics are aiding in contributing to the research and study, and have challenged the field on principles that are disconnected from the action and material conditions and special relationship of females when ethical situations occur.
The International Network on Feminist Approaches to Bioethics has been involved in the field for the last 20 years and have contributed to the field in various ways as they are the voice of women throughout the world when it comes to the morals and ethics of bioethics. Women are quickly becoming leaders in the field and are working to integrate this method into health care, but also into justice for women, which is recognized at the same time.
